BuildNZ

  • The first public presentation to architects of a thermally efficient range of residential windows and doors will be made by Architectural Profiles Ltd (APL). These “Thermal Heart” products include an insulator or “thermal break” between the aluminium interior and exterior to dramatically reduce the transmission of cold and condensation, especially when double-glazed units are included.

  • A pre-painted wall construction system which replaces conventional framing will be demonstrated by Juken with expert support from the Japanese manufacturer visiting the show. Proven in New Zealand for 15 years, this system is said to provide faster erection and labour savings at similar cost.

  • Also launched at BuildNZ will be the new LEVEL web-based tool presented by BRANZ to guide trade users through the application of sustainability to building houses. BRANZ will also feature a display explaining the value of their Appraisal system, and celebrating the 100th issue of their magazine “Build”.

  • A large area has been allocated to plumbing with Plumbing World and their suppliers having a major presence.

  • A patented Italian-designed system producing structural dome flooring will be presented by Cupolex Building Systems. Now made in NZ under licence, the system uses interlocking domes made from 100% recycled plastic to quickly produce commercial and residential floors which require less concrete and reinforcing steel.

  • The world leader in insulated panel systems for roofing and architectural walls will be demonstrated for the first time at BuildNZ by Kingspan. Providing fast, environmentally sustainable construction, these panels guarantee thermal performance and feature a PIR Firesafe core.

  • A new range of pvc windows popular in European and US markets will be launched in New Zealand by Rehau. The company will also display a hot-and-cold behind-the-wall plumbing system, and underfloor heating.

  • For the modern concept brick home, Monier will present a new range of designer-coloured bricks, 400 x 400 mm clay pavers and roofing tiles in the latest design shapes and colours. This diverse range is said to be the only one made in New Zealand.

  • Very efficient flow, less pressure drop and cost economy are all claimed by Iplex Pipelines for a new plastic gas pipe and fitting system. Plastic systems for hot and cold water, and soil and waste, will also be displayed.

  • Sealtec will feature a new generation of seamless protective coating systems for timber, concrete, steel and most other substrates. Applied by spray, brush or roller, these systems are cost effective, environmentally friendly and come in a very wide range of colours.

  • A giant very-high-resolution LCD screen on the Salesoft stand will demonstrate the latest Autodesk Revit CAD solution which enables many users to dovetail simultaneously on the same plan with structural, civil, CPM, MEP and architecture packages

  • New outdoor upholstered furniture which makes no compromise on fashion or comfort will receive its first showing by Finewood Upholstery. The range is furnished in stylish solution-dried acrylic which is resistant to UV, mildew, rain and fading.

  • Three New Zealand-made stainless steel bathroom developments will be launched by Feltonmix. They include a wall mounted shower tower, a free standing bath filler and an accessory mounting bracket for glass walls.

  • The Fletcher Aluminium stand will feature exclusive high-performance window and door products. These will include a unique top-rolling option for doors and windows, and a bifold door that can go past 90° against cladding.

  • First presentation at a trade show of the X-panel rapid bracing system will be made by CBW Canbrace. Available in options to meet NZS3604 or higher, this bracing can be fitted at the prenail stage and eliminates the need for temporary bracing. It is not damaged by rain.

  • Two new systems displayed by James Hardie will be the new lightweight cladding Axon™ Panel, and the structural cavity batten CLD®. Axon can be painted in any colour and provides exceptional performance in harsh conditions. CLD enables Titan® façade panels to be installed without the fixing penetrating the framing.

  • A range of polybutene-1 pipe and brass fittings with high performance characteristics and a 25-year guarantee will be shown by Dux. This Secura Gold range is for hot and cold-water plumbing and provides excellent flow rates, low thermal expansion and excellent freeze/thaw resistance.
