GIB® Weatherline® Rigid Air Barrier Systems

GIB® Weatherline® Rigid Air Barrier Systems

Hamish Ewan - Senior Technical Support & Development Engineer - Winstone Wallboards

GIB® Weatherline® Rigid Air Barrier Systems

The Technical Team at Winstone Wallboards have invested over 7500 hours on the GIB Weatherline® system; driven by innovation and backed by a thorough BRANZ Appraisal testing programme, this glass faced rigid air barrier with its distinctive purple colour offers the industry a competitive rigid air barrier alternative which includes a range of Fire, Noise and Structural Bracing performance options.

While new to New Zealand, gypsum core rigid air barriers have been used in the northern hemisphere for the last few decades. GIB Weatherline® has an advanced second-generation fibreglass liner on both front and back, with a highly modified gypsum core containing water and mould inhibitors.

Gypsum not only provides an excellent substrate for fire resistant applications, it is safe and easy for those handling and installing it. A technical manual has been developed to cover buildings within the scope of NZS 3604.

For buildings requiring specific design, the Specific Design Technical Data Sheets document provides suitability qualified professionals with the performance data required to incorporate GIB Weatherline® into their design.
